PkrGrl is - you guessed it - a site about poker for girls (women really). We love poker and we love strong women who make their way in the poker world. And in keeping with the Girl Power spirit of the site, there are no men allowed!
So Who is Pkr Grl?
A little background on moi.
My first reference to card games doesn’t go quite that far back in time, but it does start at quite a young age. I must have been about 3 years old when my grandmother began teaching me how to play a Portuguese card game which I now couldn’t tell you how on earth to play. From there it somehow lead to 5 card stud, and at age seven I can recall playing 5 card draw for hours on end with 10 and 20 cent pieces. At this stage, the game was just that. It was something to do in order to pass time and had nothing to do with skill.
As time went by, more and more variations of the game became a part of my poker ‘vocabulary’ and by age 12 my skills in Manila Poker could out-wit, out-play and out-last most of the adults in my extended family (the reason for Manila Poker was mainly due to it being the main type of poker played in Australian casino’s hence the main style the adults taught me!) I soon discovered Texas Hold‘em and also turned 18 (the legal gambling age in Australia) and fell in love with casino’s, so not long after turning 21, I went to what I now consider my favourite place on earth Las Vegas.
From the simple beginnings of that first game of cards, poker has become my passion, and the bright lights and felt tables of casinos have become what I love. One day I hope that my passion and my love for the game will become… a WSOP bracelet.

Why do I run Pkr Grl?
My goal is to create a community of ass-kicking poker-playing women that love the game and the challenge of playing in a sport historically dominated by men.
As we grow as a company we’ll be looking to set up women only poker tournaments, bonuses and specials with our recommended poker rooms, so stand by for a new wave of poker girl awesomeness.
Women in Poker are here to stay…
