If there is one woman in poker that has everything going for her, then it must be Vanessa Rousso. This half French, half American beauty was brought up in Paris and from an early age showed signs of brilliance.

Child Prodigy

At just 1 year old, she was speaking in sentences, reading by 3 and at 5 she was playing poker. Throughout her education, Rousso continued to shine, graduating as valedictorian from high school and receiving a scholarship in which she completed a 4 year Degree majoring in economics at Duke University in two and a half years.

While studying, Rousso came across the mathematical concept of game theory and began applying it to her poker game in online tournaments.

Entering the Live Poker Circuit

In 2005, Rousso travelled from Florida to New Orleans for her first World Series of Poker Circuit event and made the final table, taking home $6,465 and claiming the title of the youngest female to make a WSOPC final table.

Turning Pro - Building on Success

Her success continued through 2006 claiming 7th place in the $25,000 World Poker Tour Championship at the Bellagio and walking away with a sponsorship deal with PokerStars and $263,625 in earnings. In 2007 and after only two years as a pro, Vanessa was the highest earning female player for the year in the United States.

During 2008 while continuing her Law Degree at the University of Miami, Rousso joined the PokerStars Latin American and European Poker Tours (did I mention she is fluent in Spanish and French and of course English) and finished 10th and 39th respectively.

2009 Winning Streak

So far in 2009, not only has Vanessa appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, she has increased her tournament earnings including winning $euro;720,000 in the EPT high roller championship.

Later this year she will graduate from Law School but this fashionista doesn't plan on leaving her poker life for a law career for a few years to come.
