WSOP Bracelets - Priceless Prize or Worthless Metal

Pkr Grl Likes … jewelry. However, I’m not too sure about that big hulking WSOP bracelet.

The World Series of Poker Main Event bracelet is the most coveted prize that any aspiring poker player wants to get their hands on. No woman has ever managed to win this prestigious piece of jewelery (although Annette Obrestad has won the Main Event at the WSOPE), but is it that great a loss? Let me explain what I mean.

Blinged to the max!

Blinged to the max!

Like most females, I like a nice piece of jewelery covered with diamonds and rubies, especially if I didn’t have to pay for it. However one thing I like to do with my jewelery is wear it. Now I know that the WSOP bracelet is not exactly made for everyday use, I mean we don’t hear about Venus and Serena Williams serving brunch off their Wimbledon dishes, or Roger Federer sitting at home drinking Moet out of one of his many trophy cups, but what is the point of having something worth thousands of dollars sitting in a box on your dressing table that never actually sees the light of day?

I’d wear it in bed!

I can hear some of you saying ‘if I won it, I would wear it’ but honestly that big chunky bracelet just wasn’t made for a woman to wear.

Maybe while the WSOP still has the chance, they should create a different piece of jewelery as the Main Event prize for females, just like how Wimbledon has a cup for the men and a dish for the women. A nice diamond necklace with a WSOP pendant, or a big jewel encrusted ring would do the trick for me (although my boyfriend may not appreciate the amount he would need to pay to for his engagement ring to compete with the ring!)

Maybe they should just review the giving of the bracelet altogether because I’m pretty sure that there have been reports of a few floating around at pawn shops along the strip.
