While doing my usual rounds on the internet looking at all things poker, I came across something which left me scratching my head to say the least.

As some of you may know, 2004 World Series of Poker bracelet winner Annie Duke is currently a part of The Celebrity Apprentice 2 whereby contestants work in teams to carry out challenges set by Donald Trump, with all funds raised being donated to charity.
It all sounds like a good fun for a good cause, however the latest task which involved the teams auctioning 5 pieces of jewelery from Ivanka Trump’s line somehow lead to comedian Joan Rivers likening Duke to… Hitler?
Joan Rivers Turns Nasty
I wasn’t quite sure that I was reading things right so I decided to take a look at the video of the show, but even with all the wonders of technology the clip isn’t viewable outside of the US (I’m on “vacation” in China).
So going back to the ancient art of reading, it seems that Annie called up a few of her poker buddies including Perry Friedman and Andy Bloch, and managed to get them to throw some of their dollars towards the auction. How is this remotely comparable to the actions of Hitler?
I’m really not sure. What I do know is that Annie’s Hitler like behaviour resulted in her chosen charity Refugees International receiving $245,000 towards providing food, medicine, clothing, and education to those who have been displaced due to world crises.
I say good on you Annie for doing your bit to raise as much as possible not only to win the challenge, but to donate to such a worthy cause, even if it did mean calling in a few favours.
